Contemporary Rituals is devoted to preserving and promoting modern cultural practices and rituals. Through our community engagements, we aspire to enhance understanding and appreciation for the rich diversity of current traditions.
Professional Themes
We focus on nurturing various participation that foster cultural exchange and community dialog. Our projects are designed to empower individuals while ensuring that diverse practices are honored and celebrated.
The work represents an educational counseling intervention within the modern initiation as a comparison with oldest rites and rituals in which the individual belonging to a community is prepared to be transformed from a child to an adult, from a girl to a women and mother.
Art and music -as healing mediums - help clients develop a safe re-creation of a well-defined and balanced growth in the urban space;
It prepares individuals to survive abrupt changes which many times create anxiety, depression, and risk for suicide. “Mothers to become”
Many times experience changes and the unknown that is easier to be expressed on a canvas and music than words. It is just a good way to start talking about expectations, a new life, or how to recover.

Biography
Romanian originated Canadian educator and artist- with a Masters Degree in Human Development and Applied Psychology, 2000 –OISE, University of Toronto. Silvia is the founder of Rites of Passage –a developmental counseling organization that uses art and music as means of healing.
Started in US, Indianapolis -2007- Silvia has worked with herself and others to deepen the realization and awareness of various emotions and life transitions.
During the recent years she developed a series of Emotional Focus – Art & Music healing programs, which became the start point of small group counseling and workshops. Today, the work continues in Toronto as a business and a new non-profit.
